The story

The day I placed 4th.

The story behind the name.

2018
Today

Eight years ago, I weighed 270 pounds.

I'd stopped recognizing the guy in the mirror.

I signed up for a 12-week challenge at my local gym. I still remember stepping on the scale for weigh-in and seeing the number for the first time. Then they took the entry photo. Standing there, holding that sign, looking at what I'd become — that was the moment something cracked.

I didn't sign up to win the challenge. I signed up to save myself.

Twelve weeks later, I'd lost over 50 pounds. Physically, mentally — I'd never felt stronger. I walked into that awards ceremony already a winner.

Then they called fourth.

For a second, the floor dropped out. Everything I'd sacrificed for twelve weeks — every early morning, every meal I forced down, every workout I had nothing left for — and I came up short.

That night I made myself a promise.

"I'll be back next year. And I'm going to win."

The following year. Same challenge. Same twelve weeks. This time I knew exactly what 4th place felt like, and I trained like I never wanted to feel it again.

First place overall.

The next day, I started 4th Place Fitness.

Why the name stuck.

If I'd won the first year, I don't think I'd be here right now. That loss built something a trophy never could've. It built purpose.

4th place isn't last. It's not the podium either. It's the place where you decide whether your comeback is going to mean something.

It's where real ones live.

The night I lost was the night I really won.

Why I built the app.

Since 2019, I've been training people one-on-one. Watching them quit. Restart. Quit again. Come back.

I built 4PF for every version of every client I've ever coached at their lowest — and for the version of me standing on that scale at 270 pounds, holding an entry photo and a promise nobody else heard.

Training. Nutrition. Mindset. Accountability. One place. Built for grinders. Not influencers.

This is the comeback.

You vs. You. Every Day.
