4th Place Fitness ("we," "us," "our") is a fitness app built by an independent operator. This page is the short, plain-English version of what we collect, why, and what we do with it.
What we collect
When you create an account, the app stores:
- Account basics — email, password (hashed), first name.
- Profile data you enter — goals, training experience, equipment, days/week, sex, age, height, weight, activity level, the "4th place moment" you optionally share.
- Workout + nutrition logs — what you train, what you eat, body measurements you log, progress photos you upload.
- Chat history with the AI coach — your messages and the coach's replies, retained so the conversation stays coherent across sessions.
- Billing info — handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we receive a customer ID and subscription status only.
- Usage analytics — anonymized page views and basic device info via Vercel Analytics. No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no PII.
Why we collect it
- Train, Fuel, Coach — your profile and logs power the AI plan generator and the coach's personalized replies.
- Billing — Stripe processes payments and tells us your subscription status.
- Email — for password reset and (rarely) product updates. We do not sell or rent emails.
- Analytics — to understand what's working on the marketing site and the app.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the services we need to run the product:
- Supabase — auth + database + file storage (your data lives here).
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Anthropic — powers the AI coach. Your messages are sent to Anthropic's API for inference; Anthropic does not train on this data per their commercial terms.
- Resend — sends transactional emails (password reset, billing notices).
- Vercel — hosts the site and the API.
We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party ad pixels. We do not share with data brokers.
How long we keep it
As long as your account exists. If you delete your account, all of your data is deleted from our systems within 30 days. Stripe retains transaction records as required by law (typically 7 years for tax purposes).
Your rights
- See your data — Settings → "Export My Data" downloads a JSON archive of everything tied to your account.
- Delete your data — Settings → "Delete Account" wipes everything. Irreversible.
- Correct your data — edit your profile in the app, or email us if anything looks off.
- Object / restrict — email us and we'll handle it.
If you're in the EU, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with specific privacy rights (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), those rights apply to you regardless of what's written here.
Cookies + tracking
The marketing site (4thplacefitness.com) uses no cookies and no third-party trackers. The app (4thplacefitness.app) uses one cookie: an authentication session token issued by Supabase. That's it.
Children
The app is not intended for users under 18. If we learn a minor created an account, we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a material way, we'll email you. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
